Roger Ver pledges to match all Bitcoin donations to antiwar.com up to $10,000

"Bitcoin Jesus" Roger Ver has pledged to match all bitcoin donations to antiwar.com up to $10,000, in bitcoin.

In July, Ver offered $10 to the Free Ross Ulbricht campaign for every retweet of his link. To date, there have been 16,875 retweets.

Ver has had a falling out of sorts with his native country, which has further fueled his advocacy for Bitcoin.

In an article titled, "How Bitcoin Can Stop War", Ver argues that Bitcoin can prove a valuable tool for global understand and prevent nations from going to war.

On fiat currency, he says:

".... they can print as much of it as they want at any time....And I would be annoyed by that in general if they were using it only for building schools or roads and bridges and things like that...

But it gets worse...

"...And then they use that money to build all sorts of tanks and bombs and airplanes and murder people all over the world. And if you think about it, that’s what war is. It’s a group of people who go and murder other people who they've never met and don’t know anything about because another group of strangers in Washington, D.C. or some other capitol told them to do it."

According to its "About Us" page, antiwar.com "is devoted to the cause of non-interventionism and is read by libertarians, pacifists, leftists, "greens," and independents alike, as well as many on the Right who agree with our opposition to imperialism."
