Valutrades is a provider of foreign Exchange (FX) and contracts-for-difference (CFD), having integrated Acuity’s news sentiment tools as part of its newest product offering for clients. The launch coincides with Valutrades’ marketing initiative that pushes ‘smart trading’, coupled with the advent of Acuity’s trade alerts, news sentiment data, and other capabilities.

New Trading Utility

The extension of the products to Valutrades’ platform is important as it allows clients to garner a number of new trading capabilities via the utilization of news sentiment analysis and tools. The deployment of these capabilities is helpful in a wide range of functions, including the discerning of market trends, natural language processing (NLP), and information previously reserved for hedge funds and other venues.

Acuity Trading has made inroads in the financial services industry for its reliance on NLP technology, which works by extracting sentiment from millions of online news articles and social media correspondences. The ultimate result of this cohesion is the provision of visualizations on how receptive the broader market is towards a given asset. Clients will have access to the new utility on MT4, through an API or through HTML5 widgets.

According to Andrew Lane, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Acuity Trading, in a recent statement on the launch: “Valutrades have really grasped the concept and capabilities of news sentiment and how this can drive client trading activity; helping to boost trader confidence, simplify research and find new trading opportunities. It is evident that Valutrades have really taken the time to consider the needs of their clients, catering for beginner through to advanced traders, and our tools are well designed and equipped to support their objectives.”

“Acuity’s sentiment tools are rejuvenating the online brokerage market. The cutting edge technology used to create these tools really separates them from the more traditional tools that you find on the market,” explained Graeme Watkins, CEO of Valutrades, in an accompanying statement.

“Acuity’s tools have applied the same institutional-level technology accessible only by hedge funds in the past and made it available to the retail investment community so that traders of all abilities can take advantage of the same, powerful data set. We believe these tools will make research and trading far more engaging and enjoyable for our clients, resulting in a much more positive online experience for traders of all experience,” he added.
