The Foreign Exchange Professionals Association (FXPA) has once again expanded its membership composition to include institutional equity and fixed income trading specialist Cantor Fitzgerald as the newest Supporting Member of the FX trade group, according to an FXPA statement.
The FXPA is a Washington-based organization for the foreign exchange (FX) industry that collectively represents the shared interests of brokers and market participants in the FX industry. The multinational group, along with its growing membership composition, was initially formed with the intent of advocating the interests of the FX industry to key regulators and policymakers via education, research, and transparency.
According to an FXPA spokesperson in a recent statement on the membership: “FXPA’s membership is comprised of a broad group of constituents that have come together to collectively help shape the future of the FX industry. FXPA welcomes the addition of Cantor Fitzgerald as a further representative of the many facets that make up this unique organization.”
“The FXPA has proven itself a well-rounded platform for positive dialogue in an evolving marketplace. This maturation will pose both new challenges and opportunities and we’re excited to join such a uniquely well-positioned association in addressing them,” added James Reilly, Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Foreign Exchange Sales and Trading at Cantor Fitzgerald, in an accompanying statement.
