Finance Magnates can confirm that David Hastings has been appointed as Managing Director at Price Markets UK. According to Hastings’ LinkedIn, the industry veteran joined the FX prime brokerage and infrastructure service provider this May.
Hastings joins Price Markets from Whispers FX where he was a director since January of 2017. Whispers FX is an FX consultancy that enables financial technology firms to outsource their sales and marketing efforts.
Having worked for Shell as a treasury consultant, Hastings earned his stripes in the FX industry working for Lava Trading as Head of Relationship Management in the early 2000s. He then spent several years with State Street Global Markets, working on global strategic relationships.

Between 2009 and 2011, Hastings worked as the Global Head of FX sales for FlexTrade, a provider of execution and order management systems for a number of financial instruments. During his time with the firm, he worked on white label FX products and software solutions.
More recently, Hastings was the interim-CEO of BT Prime. He was responsible for sales and operations strategy for the UK and acted as the firm’s representative to the Financial Services Authority, a UK judicial body that ceased to exist in 2013. Luckily for Hastings, he left before the firm entered into insolvency as a result of trading in the Swiss Franc.
Outside of the industry, Hastings was a local councilor for the London borough of Bromley, where he worked on the environment. He also worked as a liaison with the ACI UK Financial Markets Association, collecting and disseminating information related to FX industry regulation.
