TradingView has introduced an official Model Context Protocol Server in beta. It allows users to connect their TradingView accounts to compatible AI assistants and access platform data and tools through natural-language conversations.

The service is available through MCP-compatible clients, including Claude and ChatGPT.

London's trading industry is coming home!

The move follows a wider rollout of MCP connections across retail trading. ThinkMarkets, IG Australia, Spotware and Webull have introduced MCP-based tools that connect AI assistants with their trading platforms or account functions.

Their capabilities range from accessing market and account information to executing trades.

TradingView MCP Expands Retail Trading Access

The server is available to users on Essential and higher-tier plans. Users authenticate through their TradingView accounts, and no API keys are required for the connection.

The available tools include historical price data, market research, screeners, fundamentals, news, filings and economic calendars. Users can also manage TradingView watchlists and alerts through supported tools. The server currently has a rate limit of about 100 tool requests per minute per user.

The development is relevant to retail traders who use the platform for market analysis. TradingView supports integrations with brokers across several markets, including forex and CFDs, allowing users to connect broker accounts and trade through its Supercharts platform. Those broker connections remain separate from the new MCP server.

MCP Currently Has Limited Trading Tools

The current MCP documentation does not list tools for accessing a connected broker account's balance or positions, or for placing broker orders through an AI assistant. The documented tools instead focus on market data, research and platform functions.

TradingView says the MCP toolset is currently scoped and will expand over time. The company describes the server as a beta product, meaning the available tools may change as development continues.
