MetaQuotes Acquires Russian Digital Marketing News Website
- The software company said that it will use Searchengines.ru to strengthen its web analytics services
MetaQuotes, a software provider to the retail trading industry, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired Searchengines.ru.
Founded in 2000, Searchengines.ru operates a news portal for online marketing.
Initially a forum for Russian internet users to discuss and analyze search engines, the firm started providing news on the digital marketing ecosystem in 2001.
A year after that, the company also launched the first-ever search engine optimization (SEO) conference in Russia - Optimization.ru.
On top of those activities, Searchengines.ru runs Searchengines.guru - a forum dedicated to online marketing issues.

The terms of the deal were also not disclosed by either party but the chief executive officer (CEO) of Searchengines.ru, Sergey Petrenko, confirmed that he will be leaving the company.
"For over 18 years, since the [website's] creation, I have given it almost everything I could,” said Petrenko, who also founded the site.
“I wish every success to the new owners and I hope they will bring the project to new levels."
