MetaQuotes Adds Millisecond Reporting to MetaTrader 5 with Build 880

In what is currently one of the more noticeable missing features of MetaTrader, platform provider MetaQuotes has announced that they have added millisecond reporting into MetaTrader 5. The upgrade comes with the firm initiating Build 880 for MT5. With the upgrade, traders and brokers will now be able to access millisecond reporting of when and how long trades take to be executed. In terms of MetaTrader 4, the platform is still limited to second-by-second reporting for both client and broker users. However, as seen by other upgrades such as ‘one click trading’ and trading signals, MetaQuotes will offer added new features to MT4 after first launching them on MT5.

The lack of millisecond reporting is a long time stumbling block that brokers have encountered, and still encounter when using MetaTrader 4. Specifically as high-frequency trading and latency, as well as more of the market applying STP models, knowledge of millisecond reporting is in greater demand than it was when MetaTrader was launched in 2005. As a result, sub-second trade reporting has become a standard among newer trading platforms being launched. In addition, the lack of millisecond availability has led to the creation of an ecosystem of third party Risk Management products to provide brokers with greater details of order Execution .
