The cryptocurrency market operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while the minimum transaction value for Chilean clients is $2. Until now, XTB clients seeking cryptocurrency exposure could use contracts for difference (CFDs) or exchange-traded notes (ETNs).
The rollout comes just over two weeks after XTB selected the same market for the debut of its AI-powered analytical chat, which uses market information supplied by LSEG and Reuters.
Chile Becomes XTB’s Product Testing Ground
The two launches suggest that Chile is becoming XTB’s preferred testing ground for new products before their wider international deployment.
The company obtained a securities agent licence from Chile’s Financial Market Commission in February 2025, its first regulatory approval in Latin America. XTB previously described the country as a key part of its expansion strategy in the region.
Chile gives the company a relatively contained market in which it can test its technology, measure client demand and refine operating processes before taking a product into additional jurisdictions.

“In the coming months, we plan to expand this offering to European markets,” said Omar Arnaout, Chief Executive Officer of XTB.
The proportion increased to 31.4% among investors aged between 18 and 25.
Adding spot cryptocurrencies forms part of XTB’s broader effort to transform its trading platform into what the company describes as a European investment “super app.” Its product range has expanded beyond CFDs to include stocks, ETFs, investment plans, retirement accounts and a multi-currency eWallet.
XTB’s Spot Crypto Plans Date Back to Early 2025
XTB’s spot cryptocurrency ambitions first became public in early 2025, when the company began recruiting a Head of Crypto to develop its digital asset offering.
The Cypriot entity subsequently launched spot cryptocurrency trading for local clients in the first half of 2026. XTB currently advertises access to more than 35 crypto assets through its Cypriot operation.
Spain is expected to become the next European market, after Cyprus, to receive the product. XTB plans to introduce spot crypto there before the end of 2026 and then gradually expand the service to additional countries, subject to regulatory approvals.
Poland’s MiCA Deadlock Continues
The situation remains more complicated in XTB’s home market.
Poland still lacks the domestic legislation needed to designate a competent authority and establish the local supervisory framework supplementing MiCA. President Karol Nawrocki vetoed successive versions of the crypto-assets bill in December 2025, February 2026 and June 2026.
XTB says it remains interested in offering spot cryptocurrencies in Poland under domestic regulations. However, if the legislation is not adopted, the broker may instead make the service available to Polish investors through its MiCA-licensed Cypriot subsidiary.
Such a move would allow XTB to work around the prolonged legislative impasse in Warsaw by using the cross-border permissions attached to its Cypriot authorisation.
For the moment, Polish clients can obtain cryptocurrency exposure through XTB’s CFDs and ETNs, but they cannot purchase crypto assets directly on the spot market.
