  • Users can move from ticker discussions and live charts to Webull’s platform, where they can initiate trades.
  • Transactions remain outside X and subject to Webull’s onboarding and eligibility rules.

Webull, a US-based online investment platform, has joined the X Cashtag Partner Program for stocks and crypto, giving X users a path from asset discussions to Webull’s brokerage and trading infrastructure, where they can initiate a trade.

London's trading industry is coming home!

Webull is among a growing number of brokers and trading platforms joining the X initiative, turning the social feed into an actionable financial information hub.

What Is a Cashtag?

When users search for or post a ticker symbol, such as $BTC or $AAPL, X automatically suggests matching assets. Tapping a Cashtag displays the asset’s live chart alongside posts mentioning it and provides links to partner brokers where users can start trading.

X launched the Cashtag Partner Program on September 15 in the US with a limited number of partners, including Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Coinbase, Kraken and Gemini. Webull joined the programme two weeks after it started, offering another route from discussion to trading.

The model was first tested in 2023, when X, then Twitter, worked with eToro to add external trading links to Cashtag pages. The current version expands the approach from a single provider to multiple brokers and crypto trading platforms, turning tickers into a distribution channel.

Users do not execute transactions directly inside X. The social platform redirects them to the selected partner, where they must log in or register and complete the transaction independently.

How Webull Fits into the Picture

Webull is a US-based online broker with a multi-asset offering and a broader ecosystem of related products and services, including market data, live price feeds, educational content and a trading community.

At the end of June, Webull reported 28.2 million registered users, 5.13 million funded accounts and $28.5 billion in customer assets. The platform offers US stocks, ETFs, options, futures, fractional shares and digital assets, although the available products and responsible legal entities vary.

Under the Cashtag model, Webull appears when a user is already viewing an asset’s price and related discussion. Existing customers would be redirected to Webull to log in and prepare a transaction, while new users would still need to open an account and complete the required onboarding checks.

Investment decisions and transactions are completed through Webull, with the usual product eligibility, jurisdictional and risk requirements continuing to apply.

Crypto also sits outside the company’s standard securities brokerage structure. Webull Pay LLC provides digital-asset trading, while securities and derivatives are handled through other regulated Webull entities.

Consequently, the assets accessible through a Cashtag link may differ depending on the instrument, location and account eligibility.

X Data Is Not Yet a Webull Product

The partnership also creates the possibility of incorporating X data into Webull, including sentiment, discussion trends, market narratives and Cashtag activity.

However, the announcement does not describe a finished analytics product or provide a launch date. The agreement follows Webull’s recent expansion of its AI assistant, which can research markets and prepare orders across several asset classes.

Those orders still require the user to review and confirm them inside Webull. Both developments shorten the route from information to a proposed transaction while keeping execution within the brokerage environment.

This also places greater weight on controls around viral content, sentiment manipulation and impulsive trading when an asset is attracting attention online.

Webull and X have not disclosed the commercial terms of the partnership, the launch timetable for Webull links, referral volumes or whether the integration will become available outside the US.
