The final tally of the votes in the U.K. referendum on the country remaining in the E.U. is to come no earlier than on the morning of the 24th of June. Traders and brokers who want to breathe a sigh of reassuring relief in the aftermath of the Brexit vote might have to wait until their breakfast time to do that.

Despite the uncertainty of the timing of the final results, different localities and regions will begin reporting on the outcome of the vote about two and a half hours after the close of polling stations. The list has been released by the organization that is overseeing the Brexit referendum.

With no exit polls on TV, the tally will start flowing in around 12:30 A.M. on the 24th of June. Sunderland in northeast England and Wandsworth in southwest London will be the first areas to report their count, followed by the City of London, Gibraltar, Newcastle, Oldham and Swindon which are set to report the outcome by about 1 A.M.

The final results are expected to be announced around 7 A.M. which is 9 hours after the close of the polling stations across the U.K. That said, the timing is not fixed nor certain since delays on vote counting have happened in the past.

Votes across 382 localities will need to be tallied in order for the final announcements to be made. From the looks of it, brokers and traders are in for a long night until uncertainty around the Brexit vote is removed from the global markets risk premiums.
