Rakuten and Dentsu have made an official announcement regarding the future launch of Rakuten Data Marketing, a new Tokyo-based company that will offer marketing, data, and mass media services. Company operations will begin in October 2017.
Rakuten Group’s Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Makoto Arima, who joined the company earlier this month, will assume the roles of President and Representative Director at Rakuten Data Marketing. Mr. Arima is a veteran in the marketing industry, with about 21 years of experience accumulated at Yahoo, Google, Recruit, and most recently Adroll.
On top of the extensive marketing services explained in the announcement, the new company will allow Rakuten Ichiba to offer better brand partnership opportunities, with customizable marketing products based on the client profile analysis that will be made available through Rakuten Group’s big data. Clients will also receive assistance with their brand’s strategies and integrated media planning services that extend beyond the digital field.
Rakuten Data Marketing joins the previous joint endeavors of the two parent companies to provide marketing related services and assistance to firms.
