Electronic trading and connectivity solutions provider ULLINK announced the hire of Ofir Gefen as its Managing Director for the Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) region. He has years of experience in the region - he worked at ITG for 18 years, and has been involved in the region since 2008.

“With 9 years’ experience in the region I am confident I can contribute to the formidable APJ team and together deliver ULLINK’s ambitious growth plan for the region,” said Gefen.

Frank Van Zegveld

After nearly 5 years at Netherlands-based multi-bank ECN Solid FX, Frank Van Zegveld is stepping down from his position of Head of Sales & Business Development. Solid FX is a privately held fintech company, specializing in automated FX trading solutions and software development for the financial sector.

Van Zegveld said in an email statement: “After 4 years in the role as head of business development & sales for Solid Trading BV, the time has come to seek for new opportunities. I am happy and proud that we’ve grown this great company. I’m grateful for the opportunities offered and thank the whole team for beautiful collaborations.”

Carolina May

Carolina May

The former CEO of FXStreet has begun a new career path in the media. Carolina May, financial veteran, has joined the advisory board of NewsBTC, a cryptocurrency daily news service.

She said to Finance Magnates: "I think there is a tremendous opportunity to make an impact and help traders invest in this evolving market. NewsBTC is eager to grow and become the main source for these traders and we will work together to achieve this.”

Sameer Sehgal

Traydstream, a London-based fintech company, has appointed 22-year trading veteran Sameer Sehgal as its CEO. Sehgal worked at Citi prior to this, contributing to making Citi the largest trade bank in the EMEA region. Before working with Citi, he worked in senior roles at Bank of America.

Traydstream’s Chief Operating Officer, Uzair Bawany, said: “In Sameer we have one of the leading figures in global Trade Finance; his appointment is invaluable to us in charting a course for the exciting future for our business.”

Florian Dumas

Florian Dumas, formerly of BNP Paribas, has taken on the role of Head of FICC in Asia-Pacific at Société Générale.

He will be responsible for managing client relationships in interest rates, credit, foreign Exchange and securitized products. as well as overseeing FX and rates distribution to all institutional clients in Asia.

and report to Paris-based Albert Loo, Global Head of FIC and Cross Asset Solution Sales and Global Markets. He will also report regionally to Guillaume Miquel, Head of Fixed Income and Currencies (FIC), Global Markets for Asia Pacific.

Dumas has spent the majority of his career in Asia, and for this role he will be based in Hong Kong.

easyMarkets, the popular Online Trading company, has taken on a new head of sales in the APAC region. Jimmy Pan, with a decade of experience in the industry, comes to the firm to head up the management team in Sydney.

He will report directly to the Managing Director of the APAC region, Daniel Byrne. Byrne said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Jimmy Pan to the easyMarkets team as the APAC Head of Sales. Having known Jimmy personally for over 10 years, working together for four of those, I can say that there are few in the industry of his calibre.
