Santander Corporate & Commercial, a subsidiary of Santander Group, has made a new senior appointment, tapping Saul Proctor as thenewest Director of its Financial Sponsors team with immediate effect.

In this role, Mr. Proctor will be based out of the UK, focusing on the origination and Execution of leveraged finance opportunities in the domestic market. He will be reporting to Andrew Clayton, Santander’s National Head of Financial Sponsors, Structured Finance Group.

Mr. Proctor joins Santander after a career of over eight years at RBS, having worked in a number of leveraged finance roles. This included stints in its Financial Sponsors, Structured Finance unit, as well as other positions in Portfolio Management and Corporate & Institutional Banking.

According to Mr. Clayton in a statement on the appointment: “Santander Corporate & Commercial has established a long track record in successfully structuring debt products into complex and/or leveraged transactions, and is committed to providing tailored support to our customers at every stage of their development."

“The team has an established presence and successful track record in the UK mid-market whilst the bank as a whole offers a unique range of products and a strong international proposition. I look forward to working with my colleagues, my network of professional relationships and management teams to provide many more businesses with on-going support throughout their development,” explained Mr. Proctor.
