FX trading services provider OANDA has added fintech veterans Steve Freiberg and Tyler Sloat to its board of directors, bringing a combined five decades of experience to help assist its advisory team.
The two fintech industry specialists have each garnered significant experience in a variety of senior level roles. Mr. Freiberg joins OANDA’s advisory board having recently served as Citigroup’s co-chairman and CEO of the company’s Global Consumer Group.
His most recent stint was the CEO of Etrade Financial Corporation – despite the new appointment, Mr. Freiberg still will be maintaining his advisory role to Boston Consulting Group, Verisk Analytics, and 7.

Alternatively, Mr. Sloat has attained the wealth of his experience in myriad executive roles in Silicon Valley’s payments, software and hardware realms. Currently, he serves as the chief financial officer at Zuora, a position he will maintain in conjunction with his role on OANDA’s advisory board.
OANDA President and CEO Ed Eger issued a recent statement on the appointments, “For me, one of the many draws to OANDA was it’s sheer volume of incredible talent and expertise across the entire organization, and the company’s Board of Directors is no exception.”

As we steer into 2015, I know the combined vision, expertise and understanding of OANDA’s portfolio from Steve and Tyler will be a tremendous asset and I’m bullish about our continued success,” added Eger.
