OANDA Promotes Lucian Lauerman as Head of Digital Assets

The global brokerage firm, OANDA has appointed Lucian Lauerman to the position of Head of Digital Assets, effective from this month. Earlier, he was the Head of Data Services at the brokerage.

He joined OANDA in November 2019 as Head of Solutions for Business. Then, he was responsible for the strategic growth of the firm’s corporate offering.

Lauerman is a finance executive with more than two decades of experience working in the industry. He joined OANDA from Saxo Bank, where he spent more than seven years, first as the Head of API Business and then the Global Head of Electronic Distribution.

In addition, he had a couple of year-long assignments at Saxo before as the Global Product Manager of Foreign Exchange.

He started his career in finance in 1997 with FNX Limited as a Senior Consultant and spent his entire career in the industry at many firms. Moreover, he was with Lloyds Banking Group for almost three years, parting as the Head of e Product Management.

Many Executive Shuffles

OANDA is a global brand with a presence across all key markets, including Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. The group saw a lot of changes in its top management this year with many new appointments and a few departures.

Earlier in July, the retail broker hired Philip Holemans as the new Chief Financial Officer, following the appointment of John Murphy and Marcin Niewiadomski as the Head of the United Kingdom, and Head of Europe, respectively.

However, last month, the broker’s long-running executive, David Hodge resigned as the Global Chief Revenue Officer, Finance Magnates reported.

Meanwhile, with the latest promotion of Lauerman, it is confirmed that the retail broker is going to focus on its digital asset products. The broker already offers cryptocurrency trading in many compliant markets.
