European Regulatory Consultant, MAP S.Platis, has appointed Demetris Taxitaris as its newest Group General Manager, according to a MAP S.Platis statement.
The composition of MAP S.Platis now includes six member firms, maintaining four offices in Cyprus as well as a growing global network of associates. Mr. Taxitaris joins MAP S.Platis after a lengthy stint at the Bank of Cyprus Group in Nicosia since 2001. More recently, he founded Symmetria F.S. Ltd. in August 2013.
According to Mr. Taxitaris in an exclusive statement to Finance Magnates regarding his new role, “This position is unique and challenging in every way for me. MAP S. Platis is a dynamic Group with huge capabilities and potential, leveraging on its solid foundations for the benefit of its clients, which span the whole financial sector.
Through the guidance of the Board of Directors and the skilled team of MAP S. Platis Group, we aim at building further on our strengths positioning the Group for the years to come in a vastly dynamic industry. That is why we have been investing for some time in both our biggest asset – our people – and infrastructure and systems in order to become more competitive and efficient.”
Our clients face a number of challenges ahead, including tighter regulation globally, in a highly competitive environment. Navigating this ‘new world’ can be demanding and can divert attention from the real business. Our intention is to continue helping our clients turning these challenges into opportunities, providing them with piece-of-mind solutions to allow them to focus on what they know best – their business.

Let me clarify that I don’t feel I am new to the Group. I have been working with MAP S.Platis on several occasions and projects for a number of years and I know the culture, the people, the clients and the industry. Our human capital is extremely diverse and experienced in terms of disciplines and backgrounds, blended together with the Group’s culture, expertise and systems.”
“I believe the scope at the Group is unlimited, considering our unique position and maybe our biggest advantage: our deep understanding of the business of our clients. This is probably what makes us different from our competitors and what has driven us to be considered as the leading expert Group in this field, a position we intend to maintain,” reiterated Mr. Taxitaris
“Demetris has been part of our team since the very beginning, as an instructor in our Executive Education Courses and as a specialised advisor on a number of issues. We leveraged on his expertise, knowledge and understanding of financial services regulation and practice for almost a decade now,” noted Stelios Platis, Managing Director of MAP S. Platis, in an accompanying statement to Finance Magnates.
“So for us Demetris taking up the position of our Group’s General Manager has been a natural development. We look very much forward to Demetris’ lead towards providing more specialised, more efficient and more comprehensive support to our clients and the sector,”Platis added.
Late last year, after the passage of the Alternative Investment Funds into law in Cyprus, MAP S.Platis earned its inaugural license for Limited Persons Alternative Investment Funds (LPAIF).
