Kx has continued adding veteran talent to its leadership team with the appointment of Richard Kiel as its Senior Vice President (SVP) and Global Head of Forex Solutions. His hire will be instrumental to the group’s ongoing bid to strengthen its FX capabilities, which will focus on Kx’s platform suite.
Kx operates as a unit of First Derivatives plc (LON:FDP) – the addition of Mr. Kiel represents one of Kx’s most senior hires of the calendar year. He joins Kx from UBS, boasting a collective twenty-five year career in the FX and financial services space.
New focus on platform suite
In his new role he will be tasked with overseeing and steering Kx’s budding FX platforms. This includes multiple channels and segments, including its trading, aggregation, price distribution, smart order routing, and ore- and post- trade data analytics and reporting platforms.
In this capacity, he will be reporting to Chief Commercial Officer Pat Brazel while based out of New York City. He joins Kx at an interesting juncture, as it explores a wide range of areas in the capital markets, FX, and analytics space. The group’s platforms also include a focus on big data, which given the current demand emanating from the FX industry, could be a growing emphasis in 2018.
