IG Group (LON:IGG), a foreign exchange (FX) and contracts-for-difference (CFD) provider, has announced the appointment of the newest member of its executive team, this time adding Daniel Williams as its Global Head of Internal Audit, according to an IG Group statement.
In his new role at IG Group, Mr. Williams will be tasked with managing IG’s Global Internal Audit capabilities, including the oversight of its overall internal controls and risk management framework. He steps into the position after more than fifteen years of audit experience – Mr. Williams will be based in London.

Prior to joining IG Group, he worked at GFI Group in a similar role, albeit focusing on the Europe, Middle East, and African (EMEA) region. In this capacity Mr. Williams was responsible for the group’s review of its business in London, Paris, Nyon, Dubai, and Tel Aviv. Additional stops also include MF Global and Deloitte, dating all the way back to 1998.
Earlier this month, IG Group reported that acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tim Howkins had relinquished his role and retired. The decision was formally announced at IG Group’s recent annual general meeting, snapping a lengthy stint as its CEO. Filling the void in an interim role was Peter Hetherington, a member of IG Group’s board since 2002.
