CME Group Names Joanne Shannon as Head of Commercial Development
- She will be tasked with developing and managing the group’s sales strategy, whilst expanding CME Europe's trading infrastructure.
CME Group (NASDAQ: CME), one of the world’s largest derivatives marketplace, has appointed Joanne Shannon as its newest Executive Director and Head of Commercial Development across its European operations.

In this capacity she will be reporting to Cees Vermaas, Managing Director and CEO of CME Europe. According to Vermaas, in a recent statement on the appointment, "We are very pleased to welcome Joanne to CME Group in this critical role supporting our expansion across Europe.”

Ms. Shannon joins CME Europe from NYSE Euronext, having worked for nearly fifteen years across a number of senior roles for the operator, namely its European and Asian Liffe markets.
