Ben Tobin Joins Capitolis as its Global Head of Sales

Tobin joins the newly launched capital markets firm, being reunited with EBS BrokerTec's management.

Newly launched capital markets firm, Capitolis has made a new senior hire to its management team, bringing in sales institutional veteran Ben Tobin. He will be joining the group with immediate effect as its Global Head of Sales whilst based out of London, Finance Magnates has learned.

New York-based Capitolis specializes in servicing the capital markets space. Founded in 2017 by the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EBS BrokerTec Gil Mandelzis, the group has steadily expanded with a tranche of senior hires this year. This has included building up its sales and business development team with an emphasis on the Asia-Pacific (APAC), Americas, and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) regions.

Mr. Tobin represents the latest hire at the group, who is being reunited with Mr. Mandelzis as well as Capitolis’ co-Founder Igor Teleschevsky. As it’s Global Head of Sales Mr. Tobin is the group’s most senior appointment to date. He joins Capitolis after a lengthy career in the financial services industry spanning twenty-eight years.

Mr. Tobin has held a variety of senior roles including having previously created and managed sales teams. His most recent role was at EBS BrokerTec as its EMEA Sales Director – in this capacity he was responsible for handling account management and business for the group’s product suite in EMEA. Additionally he also was installed previously at ICAP, focusing on Liquidity Management as a Director dating back to 2012.

Additional roles include stops at another ICAP group, Traiana as a Regional Manager and EMEA Sales Director for over eight years. He has also garnered positions at Blue Curve Ltd, Front Capital Systems, and Dow Jones Telerate, part of a lengthy career extending back to 1989.
