Mr. Smolyaninov previously worked at URALSIB Capital, having served as its Chief Strategist and Deputy Head of Research, managing a team of over thirty individuals for over five years. Prior to this he also worked at related positions at Generali PPF Asset Management, Merrill Lynch & Co Inc and Forte Capital.
Mr. Smolyaninov has ranked amongst the leaders in Russian/CIS strategists in major international surveys. These include the #3 Russian equity strategist – 2013 Thomson Extel survey, #5 equity strategist among domestic investors – 2012 Institutional Investor All-Russia survey, and #2 Russia metals analyst – 2005 and 2006 Thompson Extel surveys, among others.
According to Kirill Chuyko, Head of Equity Research at BCS Financial Group, in a recent statement on the appointment, “We welcome the appointment of Mr Smolyaninov, who is a significant addition to our equity research team.
