Ryan Leonard has left the retail trading broker FXCM after almost 18 years as a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to start independent consulting in the IT and Information Security (InfoSec) businesses.

FXCM Says Goodbye to Company's Veteran

"Last week was the end of a 17.5-year run at FXCM. It has been an amazing time. Special shout out to Eduard Yusupov, Drew Niv, David Sakhai, and William Ahdout for originally entrusting a 20-something-year-old nerd with a whole bunch of responsibility; and Brandon Palmer for being the unsung mentor and OG," Leonard wrote in a LinkedIn post.

Leonard admits that his true professional career started at FXCM, where he joined in 2005. Before that, he served as a network engineer, system administrator and programmer at smaller companies. Before joining the broker, he was Information Security Officer at Dandy Connections, Inc.

His post indicates that he is leaving the company along with someone named Seth. The most likely reference is Seth Lyons, who has also been with FXCM for nearly 18 years and has served as the Director of Production Engineering since 2011, having worked previously as an InfoSec Specialist and Business Analyst.

According to Leonard's profile on LinkedIn, he graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2005 with a bachelor's degree, specializing in networking and systems administration.
