“Bitcoin: The Hunt for Satoshi Nakamoto” is a comic with a plot surrounding the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin. It seeks to educate the public through their engagement via images which “can transmit very complex information in a very quick way.”
The official release in Spanish is set for October, with November targeted for the English edition.
The project is being funded via Swarm. According to its website, “Swarm is a crowdfunding platform powered by Bitcoin 2.0 technology. It allows the users of a product to also be its investors. Everyone benefits as the platform grows.”
Working off the Counterparty protocol, its SWARM Coin currency is purchased through bitcoins and grants its holders partial ownership in ventures funded through crowdequity campaigns.

Indeed, the comic’s producers and Swarm have similar goals. Alex Preukschat, one of the comic’s producers, said:
“We really like the SWARM team and think we are both very much philosophically aligned about how we see some aspects of how our world operates. They are as passionate as we are with their work and we like to work with people who have a sense of craftsmanship of what they do.”
In addition to receiving an equity stake in the venture, contributors are eligible for additional perks. A contribution of 0.05 BTC ($24) funds one standard comic book. 20 BTC gets you “a big cameo appearance in the comic and much more.” Other contributions can get your name on the back, the right to vote for the cover or a founder’s edition.
The total goal is 42 BTC ($20,000), with 1.7 BTC (4.048%) from 19 backers raised thus far. 44 days remain in the campaign.
