Litecoin Exploring a Bank Purchase, Buterin Spars with Tron: Best of the Week

Litecoin founder Charlie Lee is exploring the purchase of a bank in Germany together with TokenPay's CEO Derek Capo.

The plans were discussed in public through Twitter messages. Lee responded to a query from Finance Magnates: "We're exploring it."

Monex ICO

Monex Group, which recently acquired cryptocurrency exchange Coincheck, is reportedly preparing to release its own Blockchain via an ICO.

The brokerage is the third largest in Japan, with a market capitalisation of 168 trillion yen ($1.54 trillion).

FXCM and Jeffries

FXCM Group is partnering with Jefferies to launch a prime brokerage.

Jefferies Global Head of FX Prime Brokerage Brandon Mulvihill said: “Jefferies is committed to addressing the credit gap in FX prime brokerage and our efforts within the broker community is reflected in this win.”

Tron vs Ethereum

Tron is a competitor to Ethereum. Originally launched on the Ethereum blockchain, it recently launched the test net of its own platform.

Tron founder Justin Sun said that it was Ethereum's shortcomings that forced the move. Ethereum head Buterin responded by alluding to allegations that Tron's template is plagiarised: "Better white paper writing capability (Ctrl+C + Ctrl+V much higher efficiency than keyboard typing new content)"

TradeFred

TradeFred has teamed up with technology provider Leverate to make use of the latter's marketing automation and business intelligence product Optim8.

TradeFred is a trading company that offers foreign exchange and CFDs. It is licensed by both CySEC and ASIC.

HMyEtherWallet and Binance suffer technical difficulties

Popular Ethereum wallet MyEtherWallet came under DNS attack, causing users to reveal their login ‎credentials. The hackers managed to steal more than $150,000 in Ethereum.

Meanwhile, Binance was working slowly, causing irritation amongst customers.
