eToro has continued to expand its presence in the sports sponsorship field, by signing two new partnerships with premier league teams Everton and Aston Villa for the 2019/2020 season.

The cryptocurrency investment platform revealed the new partnership deals on Thursday by Hosting a debate with a representative from each team that it sponsors, which now includes six teams - Southampton F.C., Tottenham Hotspur F.C., Crystal Palace F.C., Leicester City F.C., Aston Villa F.C., and Everton F.C.

By supporting the two extra clubs, eToro continues to be the biggest Premier League club sponsor for the second year in a row. The new partnerships will give eToro further exposure across physical and digital branding.

For Everton, eToro will be its “Official Online Trading Partner.” Under the agreement, the club will advertise the platform via its marketing assets and matches at home stadium Goodison Park.

On Thursday, Iqbal V. Gandham, UK Managing Director at eToro, said: "We’re proud to be the Premier League’s biggest club sponsor. Working with six clubs for the second year in a row demonstrates our commitment to our customers, and the fans."

“We want to open up our club partnerships for all and to use this celebration to enable smart insights into transfer dealings from industry experts, just like our market leading investment platform.”

eToro continues to invest in football

In 2018, eToro made headlines when it announced that it was sponsoring not one, but seven football teams in the Premier League. On top of that, the sponsorship agreement was paid to the teams in bitcoin.

According to estimates made by Finance Magnates at the time, the deal was worth somewhere between £4 million ($4.85 million) and £5 million ($6.06 million). The clubs included in the deal were Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton & Hove Albion, Cardiff City, Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Newcastle United, and Southampton.

Although eToro has a significant foothold in football, the cryptocurrency firm hasn’t limited itself to just one sport. As Finance Magnates reported, in May the company confirmed that it was sponsoring American Racing KTM – a motorbike racing team in the Moto2 class of the MotoGP.
