Coinbase will be waiving the 1% fee normally charged to merchants accepting and converting bitcoin for the upcoming Bitcoin Black Friday, which is expected to be the biggest ever.

Some of its better-known supported merchants will also have special offers. Overstock will be donating 4% of bitcoin-based proceeds back to the Bitcoin community. eGifter will be offering 7x points on bitcoin purchases from the US, while CheapAir will give $15 off flights.

Numerous other merchants are expected to have bitcoin-specific promotions. 600 merchants participated in last year’s campaign and 1200 are expected this year, according to Jon Holmquist, organizer of the campaign. Often, deals aren’t known in advance until the middle of the shopping day, as sellers can list their offers on their own through the campaign’s website.
