Hanweck Associates, a provider of Risk Management systems and technology for institutional investors, has integrated its risk Analytics platform Volera with Premium Hosted Database (PhD), Hanweck's former historical data product, to provide the derivatives industry with the combined analytical power and quality market data needed in the fast-moving marketplace.

The London Summit 2017 is coming, get involved!

Hanweck pioneered the use of graphics processing units (GPUs) within the financial industry to meet the demand for options risk analytics. The firm’s Volera® analytics engine employs hardware acceleration to handle highly complex data sets and extreme quote volume without sacrificing quality.

With the seamless integration of PhD product, Volera now has a hosted database of historical tick data with full coverage - quotes and trades from all U.S. options exchanges - plus U.S. equities level one data, pre-computed implied volatilities and Greeks, full corporate action histories, and ISE open/close trade data. More than ten years of data is now available with PhD database including over two petabytes of historical data so far.

The new upgrade will attract those requiring many years of detailed price history for applications, such as back testing of algorithms, pre/post trade analysis and historical charting. This is in addition Volera’s coverage of listed options and futures traded on all major exchanges across North America, EMEA, and Asia Pacific in real-time with tick-level and up-to-the-millisecond pricing.

The latest version of the solution provides options customers with significant cost reductions and performance enhancements since it delivers following historical data within the same platform:

  • OPRA Trades, Quotes, and BBO
  • OPRA End-of-Day Summary and Administrative Messages
  • U.S. Level 1 Equity Trades, Quotes, and BBO
  • U.S. Implied Volatilities and Greeks for OPRA universe
  • Corporate action histories, including splits, dividends and symbol changes

Robert Levy, Hanweck’s Head of Business Development commented: “By unifying real-time and historical tick level data in our proven Volera risk analytics platform, Hanweck is delivering a comprehensive offering that covers a wide range of use cases. Any firm that uses real-time or historical options tick data for portfolio construction, risk control, or execution quality purposes will now be able to subscribe to one tool that provides a complete solution.”
