BCS Global Markets Appoints Evelina Evtimova as Head of Legal and Compliance

BCS Global Markets announced on Monday that it has appointed Evelina Evtimova as its Head of Legal and Compliance .

In a press release shared with Finance Magnates, Evelina Evtimova, a legal veteran with twenty-five years of experience in law and compliance, has been named by BCS Global Markets, the investment banking services division of Russia’s largest independent broker, as its new Head of Legal and Compliance.

Evtimova will take the lead in Legal and Compliance functions. She will also provide support across business lines and geographies, including Russia, the UK, the US and Cyprus. Additionally, she will be responsible for streamlining controls, aligning policies and procedures across BCS Financial Group. Further, she will introduce new technology and leading legal and compliance projects and initiatives.

A Review of Evelina Evtimova’s Background

Prior to the opportunity with BCS Global Markets, Evtimova served SOVA Capital in the capacity of Director and National Head of Compliance in Russia for two and a half years.

Earlier to her experience at SOVA Capital, Barclays Capital recruited her as its Director and Head of Legal in 2011. She successfully fulfilled the requirements of the role over six years.

In 1998, she joined the ranks of Credit Suisse as a specialist, located in Moscow. She spent the next thirteen years there and rose to the status of Head of Legal and Compliance.

Before working for Credit Suisse, Evtimova was a Senior Lawyer at Aton from 1996 to 1998. Also, at Tomov & Co Investments, she spent two years as a lawyer fulfilling its requirements.

Additionally, Evtimova has been a member of NAUFOR's Legal Committee for more than 10 years. Further, she is currently a member of the Legal Committee of the Moscow Exchange .
