Many users of Interactive Brokers (NASDAQ: IBKR) reported difficulties accessing the broker's platform today (Wednesday), with posts on social media indicating login and connectivity issues During US trading hours.

Finance Magnates independently verified the reported login issues after being unable to access an Interactive Brokers account during checks conducted after the reports emerged. The observation suggests the issue may have affected at least some users, although the extent of the disruption could not be independently determined.

Interactive Brokers Users Report Widespread Login Issues

At the time of writing, Interactive Brokers' official system status page continued to show all systems as operational. The company had not issued a public statement acknowledging an outage or service disruption.

Posts on X indicated that some traders were experiencing login failures or were unable to access their accounts. Several users said they were unable to authenticate or reach the trading platform . However, there was no indication that the issue was affecting all users globally.

The discrepancy between user reports and the broker's system status page left the scope of the incident unclear. It was also not immediately known whether the reported problems were linked to a specific region, internet service provider, or platform.

Separately, reports also emerged today that several major hedge funds, including Citadel, Point72 and Two Sigma, had been targeted in a wave of attempted AI-powered voice phishing attacks. There is no indication the reported cyberattacks were related to the Interactive Brokers login issues.

Interactive Brokers experienced a similar incident in March 2020. The company said a server issue briefly affected login access for some clients in the UK and Europe. At the time, it said Trader Workstation and its mobile platform were impacted, while Client Portal and WebTrader remained available.

Trading platform outages have affected other brokers in recent years. In November 2025, XTB experienced a platform failure that prevented clients from closing positions for several hours during trading.

Earlier incidents also affected Robinhood, which experienced multiple service disruptions that left some users unable to log in or trade during periods of elevated market activity. In each case, the brokers later restored services and provided updates on the incidents.
