CMC Markets is rebranding its institutional business as CMC Markets Institutional, replacing the CMC Connect name as the group brings its institutional services under the main brand.

London's trading industry is coming home!

The move follows the company's expansion of its institutional and business-to-business operations. In July, CMC Markets reported record client assets of £46.3 billion. The firm also announced a trading technology partnership with Westpac in Australia to expand its customer base.

CMC Rebrand Leaves Services Unchanged

The rebranded business will cover trading, investing and wealth solutions, including multi-asset liquidity, trading technology, investment infrastructure, and access to public and private markets.

CMC Markets said the change would not affect the services available to existing institutional clients and partners.

CMC Previously Operated Separate Institutional and Retail Brands

CMC Markets introduced the CMC Markets Connect brand in January 2021 to distinguish its institutional business from its retail offering. The company said at the time that the move reflected increased investment in institutional services, including liquidity provision, pricing and execution.

The business serves banks, brokerages, family offices, hedge funds and dealing desks . Its services include multi-asset liquidity, trading technology, API connectivity and white-label solutions that allow partners to offer trading through their own platforms. The former CMC Connect website reported more than 150 institutional partners.

Prime Services Covers Equities and Financing

In May 2026, CMC Markets launched Prime Services capabilities through CMC Connect. The offering included cash and synthetic prime brokerage, financing, multi-asset execution and post-trade support.

The service provides access to cash equities, exchange-traded funds and synthetic single-stock exposure through direct market access and smart order routing.

The rebranding changes the institutional business's name but, according to CMC Markets, does not alter the services available to existing clients and partners.
