One of Italy's leading sports teams, Juventus, has signed a partnership agreement with binary options firm 24option, the agreement is over 24 months and involves LED stadium advertising and hospitality.
As the excitement of the football World Cup settles down and the rush of the new soccer season approaches, financial services firms have taken heed of what was thought to be a quiet week in the newsroom. Multi-asset binary options provider, 24option, became the third firm this week to announce a major partnership with an international football team, signing up with Juventus. The brokerage firm became the first from the world of binary options to collaborate with a football club.
The two firms have agreed to a two-year partnership which will run until the end of the 2015/ 2016 season. According to a person close to the matter, the partnership includes a number of activities that aim to enhance the broker's branding and sales outlay. The deal includes exposure at the club's home ground with advertising through LED boards, in addition to images of players, rights to the club's Asia tour and hospitality.
“Juventus continues to work with strategic partners who share the club’s principles both on and off the pitch,” said Francesco Calvo, Juventus's Chief Revenue Officer, in a statement.
Yesterday, Juventus also reported the extention of its long-term shirt sponsor, Fiat, a deal worth seventeen million euros per annum.
“As such we are delighted to attract a company which in such a short space of time has become a leader in its field. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership,” added Mr. Calvo.
FX and CFD firms have been actively using sports and sports clubs to market their products. The current football frenzy with TradeNext, InstaForex and 24option join the likes of Alpari UK, GAIN Capital and GWFX.
Details disclosed in the official press release issued on the club's website state that 24option will become the club’s exclusive partner on a global level, acquiring offline and marketing rights. A company spokesperson commented: “We’re proud of the partnership agreement which binds us to Juventus. We are both leaders in our respective fields on a global scale,” added 24option.
Our partnership emphasises the synergies between football and trading where preparation and Execution are keys to success. 24option is enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with Juventus.”

What makes an update worth covering in financial media?
According to Yam Yehoshua, Editor-in-Chief at Finance Magnates, editorial focus starts with relevance: stories that serve the industry, support brokers and technology providers, and help decision-makers navigate their businesses.
A reminder that strong financial journalism is built on value, not volume.
