Twitter is moving forward with the rumored plans of an Ecommerce platform and is currently looking to hire Ecommerce and commerce professionals.

While Twitter has yet to confirm the floating rumors of it building an Ecommerce platform by partnering with Fancy and/or Stripe, the social networking giant has posted 3 job listings for commerce and Ecommerce related positions. The positions Twitter is seeking to fill are for a commerce product manager, a commerce product marketing manager and a senior manager for commerce partnerships.

The position of commerce product manager will be responsible for synthesizing “the needs of merchants and consumers, perform market and competitor analysis, and determine product priorities”. The position of senior manager for commerce partnerships will be in charge of “incubating our nascent commerce business as we empower our users to conduct commerce in ways consistent with our values”. The last position of commerce product Marketing manager will be “focused on bringing new commerce experiences to users through the Twitter platform, so experience in online retail, Payments , or commerce will be valued”

The job descriptions portrayed on Twitter’s jobs section shows full intent of pushing forward with an Ecommerce platform. Leaked images of the Twitter platform working in conjunction with Fancy product listings have been scattered over the internet showing what seems to be a legitimate partnership between the 2 firms. We will have to wait for an official announcement from Twitter to get a better understanding on how they plan to implement Ecommerce payments on to the platform.
