Shortly after opening its source-code and app-store to developers Pebble welcomes its second payment application, this time from Wallaby.

As this is not the first payment application for the Pebble smartwatch, it is not Wallaby’s first foray into wearable tech and the firm recently released a payment application for Google’s smart-glasses platform Google Glass.

The application will work similarly to the its Google Glass counterpart and is designed to rely on financial data, user preference, and available payment options to recommend the most appropriate payment method to use with a certain merchant.

"When you're standing in line you have just a few moments to decide what card to use. With our app for Pebble's leading smartwatch, you can see the right card on your wrist, without having to get out any reminders or other devices," said Matthew Goldman, founder and CEO of Wallaby.

The announcement follows LevelUp’s payment application for the Pebble. LevelUp’s app is the first Ecommerce oriented application for the Pebble. We expect to see more wearable payment driven solutions as more devices hit the market, such as the Samsung Gear2 and Google’s Android-Wear smartwatches.
