The new application will allow POS merchants to accept Bitcoin transactions from the 1 million+ users already registered for the BlockChain.info BTC wallet. The app integrates with the BlockChain.info wallet in just a few steps.
“Merchant adoption is something we are very passionate about. We want to build beautiful, simple to use applications for anyone to get started with Bitcoin,” Nic Cary, CEO of Blockchain.info, explained.
Once the merchant installs the application, he needs to add the receiving address, business/company name, and the preferred cash-out currency. Afterwards the application is set up all that is left is to insert inventory, providing a price and description for the items sold. Each product has its on unique QR code to assist in completing the application.
“Our goal was to design an app that would make accepting Bitcoin simple and easy for any business owner. Simply download, install and open the app; set up your 4-digit PIN [...]; add your Bitcoin receiving address, name of your business and currency preference; turn push notifications on and then click save,” stated a release by BlockChain.info for the release of the new application.
The application can be installed on Android devices running version 4.0 or higher. As assumed, iOS powered devices will not be supporting the merchant application.
The app can be downloaded here on the Google PlayStore.
