API based brokerage, Tradier, announced that it has partnered with Apex Clearing Corporation to provide services for the growing robo-advisory sector. Offering a unique solution for financial websites and providers, Tradier operates a cloud based brokerage firm where partners can connect to their API to add brokerage solutions to their existing services for traders and investors. For firms with existing customer bases in the financial field such as signal providers, stock analysis websites, and trading tools developers, Tradier’s API can be integrated into their products to add brokerage services directly from their apps and web based offerings.
Partnering with Apex, Tradier adds their clearing and execution platform features within their API brokerage. According to Tradier, the combination provides their portfolio adviser customers an end to end digital solution to provide end user account holders robo-advisory services such as account onboarding, clearing of trades and order transactions.
The partnership comes about as passive, robo-advisory has become a low cost alternative to actively managed advisory services. Leaders in the field include Betterment and Wealthfront which both have grown to hold over $1 billion in assets under management for clients in automated portfolios. Other recent entrants include Charles Schwab, which launched a competing product earlier this year.
