Another appointment over at Stater Global Markets this Wednesday. The Prime of Prime broker that has onboarded a host of new executives in the past few months announced in mid-week that Ashraf Agha has joined the company as a Strategic Advisor.
“I believe there’s a huge market opportunity for Stater, given the current industry environment and the increased need for genuine Prime of Prime brokers from clients across the globe,” said Agha. “Stater’s momentum and energy has huge appeal to me.”
Agha has almost 30 years’ experience in the financial sector and has worked on compliance procedures, in operations, and with prime brokers.
Most notably, Agha was the Head of Treasury for the Danish investment bank and broker, Saxo Bank, between 2000 to 2008.

From CFH to Stater Global Markets
More recently, from 2011 to 2014, he was the Chief Operating Officer at Marex Spectrum – a broker of different financial instruments to institutional firms. Initially hired to help grow the business, Agha was eventually asked to manage the entire FX trading cycle.
Prior to joining Marex Spectrum, Agha co-founded CFH Clearing – a prime broker based in Copenhagen. Working as an Executive Director at the firm, he was headed up the company’s operations department.
“Appointing Ashraf as a Strategic Advisor underpins our strategy of leveraging significant institutional experience to fast-track our growth,” said Ramy Soliman, CEO, Stater Global Markets. “Ashraf’s expertise brings tremendous insight to Stater – he knows the Prime of Prime segment particularly well, has in-depth knowledge about the futures market and has a wealth of Board-level experience for FCA regulated entities and innovative FinTech companies.”
Agha’s appointment follows on from a number of significant hires announced by Stater over the last six months. Mark Chesterman, who joined from IG’s institutional division, was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in June. Since then, Michael Davies and Ayhan Gurcuoglu, both formerly with Sucden Financial, were appointed Global Head of Sales and Regional Sales Manager respectively.
