Financial services firm Standard Chartered today announced the appointment of Mikhail Brovman as its Global Head of Technology, Financial Markets.

Register now to the London Summit 2017, Europe’s largest gathering of top-tier retail brokers and institutional FX investors

He previously worked as a consultant at CLS for around a year. Prior to that, he was the Chief Technology Officer of a private venture that was a continuation of a project called Project Edison. He was involved in the development of a Trading Platform for rates products.

Project Edison is a joint venture by Credit Suisse and a private investor. Brovman also worked on this project while at Credit Suisse.

Brovman has held senior positions at a variety of financial institutions, including UBS, Morgan Stanley, Barclays Capital and Deutsche Bank.

According to the announcement, he will stay in Singapore and report to Dr. Michael Gorriz, the Group Chief Information Officer and interim Chief Information Officer, Corporate & Institutional Banking.

In his new role, Brovman will seek to build a seamless experience for clients, allowing them to access the financial market efficiently, with their trades and reports processed in a controlled environment.

Brovman will be a member of the management team and will be directly responsible for enhancing architecture and delivery.

This announcement closely follows the departure of Global Head of FX Sales Mark Webster, which presents a challenge to the company regarding maintaining standards for its clients.
