Paragon Global Markets (PGM), a New York-based brokerage business specializing in providing execution and clearing services in the derivatives and FX markets, has appointed John C. Murray as Managing Director.

Murray brings more than 18 years of experience to PGM, which was founded by industry veterans William Sexton and Stephen Grady and also operates as an introducing broker, registered with the US National Futures Association (NFA).

Murray will Leverage his knowledge and deep connections with broader banking and financial institutions to help PGM promote their products to a diverse global client base in the exchange-traded derivatives, OTC, and FX markets. He will be tasked with providing a specific focus on delivering the firm’s existing offering and capabilities to ultra-high-net-worth and high-net-worth clients.

Prior to his appointment with PGM, he spent three years as Managing Director with London based CTA LineHedge Partners (LP), where he managed sales initiatives for their exchange traded funds (ETFs), master limited partnership (MLPs), and fixed income offerings. During this tenure, he grew client base to 150, secured 3 FINRA securities licenses to meet regulatory compliance, and built partnerships with Latin America for commodities futures trading, Murray states on his Linkedin profile.

Other stops within FX industry

Murray's career also encompasses different roles at FX firms, including a nine-year stint at Credit Capital, a futures and Forex firm. He joined Credit Capital as a branch manager in 2008, working his way up through several vice president positions with the firm, culminating with the position of Global Head of Sales.

Murray has originally started his journey in the financial services sector back in 2006 when he joined FX broker GFT Futures and Forex.
