Omise Welcomes Jitsupa Cheowit as the Country Manager for Thailand

With an aim to increase its presence in Thailand, Omise announced today that the company has appointed Jitsupa Cheowit, the former Senior Vice President Merchant Services at UOB, as its new Country Manager for Thailand.

In her career of more than 18 years, Cheowit has worked with some of the world’s biggest financial services firms. The newly appointed Country Manager at Omise spent approximately 15 years at American Express.

Situated in Southeast Asia, Thailand is one of the fastest-growing economies in the region. With a GDP of approximately $500 billion, the country saw a massive jump in the adoption of digital tools in payments. Through the appointment of Cheowit, Omise is planning to accelerate the growth of innovative payment methods in the country.

“Jitsupa had held executive positions at Krungsri Bank and UOB Bank. She also worked at The American Express Company for 15 years, where she started her journey in payment network services and end-to-end solutions. Before joining Omise, she was a part of NTT Data (Hong Kong). There, she handled global merchant solutions and assisted local and regional clients in expanding into new markets, closely accommodating them with expertise in e-commerce, banking and payment methods,” Omise highlighted.

“Over the years, she has earned a keen understanding of customer requirements, domestic and international market compliances, as well as payment solutions,” the company added.

Partnerships

In the past 6 months, Omise has established several collaborations with companies around the world to expand its services. In November last year, the payment firm partnered with i2c to modernize issuing capabilities throughout Southeast Asia. In October 2021, Omise officially launched its services in Malaysia.

Recently, the company announced the integration of Alipay+ with its payment solutions for e-commerce businesses in Singapore. According to Omise, the partnership will allow local e-commerce brands to accept more cross-border digital payments methods enabled by Alipay+.
