From ASX to HKEX
The new head of operations joins HKEX after almost ten years spent at Singapore Exchange (SGX).
Before joining HKEX, Brooks was senior vice president of technology at the Singaporean exchange. He joined SGX in 2009 as head of infrastructure.
Prior to working in Singapore, Brooks spent over ten years at the Australian Securities Exchange in a number of different operational and technical roles.
"We are delighted to welcome Niguel to HKEX,” said Leung. “His twenty years of international experience and his background in IT infrastructure and operations will be invaluable to us and I am very much looking forward to welcoming him to the team.”
Brooks arrival to HKEX comes after Alfred Lai announced he would be leaving the exchange group.
Lai was with the exchange operator for fourteen years, working most recently as a managing director in the company’s information technology division.
“On behalf of the company, I would like to thank Alfred for his considerable contributions and long service to HKEX,” said Leung.
“He has made significant contributions to the reliability to the IT operations at [our firm] during his tenure. We wish him a very happy retirement.”
