Rokos Capital Management, the UK-based hedge-fund firm which was founded last year in London and manages about $4 billion, has selected the industry veteran Marcus Browning as one of the four main money managers for the firm.

Marcus has worked in the wealth management area of the financial services industry for nearly two decades. Prior to joining Rokos Capital, he was a mainstay money manager with BlueCrest Capital Management and prior to that he was the global head of foreign Exchange trading at Citigroup Inc.

Browning joins the macro hedge fund, which raised $3.5 billion earlier this year in one of the largest startups in the industry, while is seeking to raise as much as $2 billion to boost assets following a lucrative year for investors. In less than a year since the launch, Rokos Capital has achieved returns of about 8 per cent in 2016. The fund profited at one point about 3 percent from the global market chaos triggered by Britain’s decision to exit the European Union.

Following the solid results, Rokos Capital’s team has grown to about 60 employees. Its most notable hires so far included Seth Carpenter, a former assistant secretary of the US Treasury and a top adviser to Treasury secretary Jack Lew.
