Saxo Bank, one of the leading online financial services providers, announced today that it has selected Joanna Moberly, the former Senior Lawyer in the Commercial Banking Team of Lloyds, as the new Head of Legal and Company Secretary for the UK subsidiary of the financial firm.

Moberly has a broad range of experience in financial services law. In addition to her time at Lloyds Banking Group, Saxo Markets UK’s new Head of Legal previously worked at Barclays. She started her career at the global law firm, Dentons LLP.

In her new role, Moberly will report to Charles White-Thomson, the Chief Executive Officer of Saxo Markets UK. She will be based in London.

Commenting on her appointment, Moberly said: “Saxo is one of the leading firms dedicated to providing an institutional-style experience to retail clients in the U.K., and I look forward to working with my highly esteemed colleagues to help the firm build on its notable presence in a highly competitive environment.”

Earlier this year, Saxo Markets UK announced the appointment of Peter Morris, an industry veteran with almost 4 decades of experience in the corporate world, as its new Chief Operating Officer.

Executive Moves

To expand its operations, Saxo Markets UK has significantly broadened its team this year. According to White-Thomson, the appointment of Moberly will play an instrumental role in the company’s growth across the United Kingdom.

“Joanna’s experience will be a major asset to Saxo as we look to grow our business in the U.K. Alongside the recent hires of industry veterans Nicholas Wilcock and Michael Ridley and our new COO, Peter Morris, Joanna is a welcome addition to the team,” the CEO of Saxo Markets UK said.

Last year, Saxo Markets UK strengthened its team with the appointment of Harry Leyburn as the Digital Engagement Manager and Anaam Raza, the former Research Digital Editor at ING, as the Head of UK Marketing and PR.
