GCEX, the digital prime brokerage headed by Lars Holst, announced the appointment of Tilman Schultz as the Head of Partnerships. He will be responsible for accelerating the company’s growth in Europe, particularly the recently launched XplorDigital trading solutions.

Last month, the company launched its two trading platforms under the XplorDigital suit to foray into the trading technology space. XplorSpot is a digital asset trading platform developed to serve institutional and professional clients, and XplorTrader is for margin forex and contracts for differences trading.

GCEX Strengthens Team

Schultz will be based in Zug, Switzerland, and handle the company’s professional and institutional clients in the DACH region.

“I am looking forward to playing a key role in the firm’s global expansion, leveraging my knowledge and previous experience,” Schultz said. “I have every confidence that GCEX will be another outstanding success, much like CFH which was also founded by Lars.”

Strong Industry Experience

Schultz is an industry veteran and brings over two decades of experience to the new role at GCEX. He is known for his 11 years long tenure at Saxo Bank, where he was the FVP of Institutional Business Development and developed the wealth manager, hedge fund, and white-labeled banking business.

Most recently, he was the Head of Institutional at Hubble Protocol, a DeFi protocol built natively on Solana. Prior to entering the financial services industry, he worked at IBM and Siemens Business Services, according to his Linkedin profile.

“We see significant growth opportunities for GCEX across Europe and are excited to strengthen our institutional team to cover German-speaking markets,” said Holst, the Founder and CEO of GCEX. “Having worked with Tilman previously at Saxo Bank, I know that he has the expertise, regional knowledge, and contacts to help us to build an even stronger institutional presence across the region.”

Meanwhile, GCEX recently published its financials for 2022, a year when its turnover jumped 136 percent to £4.5 million. Furthermore, it ended the year with a net profit of £1.5 million.
