GCEX Hires Michael Aagaard as MD to Strengthen Denmark Operations

GCEX, which is headquartered in London, announced the appointment of Michael Aagaard as its new Managing Director for operations in Denmark.

Aagaard will oversee all activities of the company out of its Danish base. Additionally, he will focus on growing the team in Copenhagen. Moreover, he will work toward the planning of the company’s strategic growth.

Jon Squires to Step Down as CEO of Capital.com and Currency.com

The Chief Executive Officer of Capital.com and Currency.com, John Squires has announced his resignation from the apex role on both platforms. He will continue to head both companies until the end of this month.

Squires joined Capital.com in 2019 as the Chief Operating Officer. Within a short time, he was appointed as CEO of both Capital.com and Currency.com. During his time there, both platforms saw massive growth in their performance metrics. However, Squires did not disclose his next career move.

CFTC Announces Three Executive Staff Appointments

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission has announced three new appointments for executive staff. According to Kristin N. Johnson, the CFTC Commissioner, Bruce Fekrat will serve as Chief Counsel and Natasha C. Robinson Coates and Lillian A. Cardona will serve as interim Senior Counsel.

Fekrat will start his position as Chief Counsel from 1st June. Previously, Fekrat worked for CME Group as an Executive Director and Associate General Counsel.

Interim Senior Counsel Robinson Coates will assist commissioner Johnson. She joined the CFTC from the Legal Division, where she was Deputy General Counsel for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs.

Cardona’s previous position was as Assistant Chief Counsel at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Saxo Markets Names Sean Ma as Head of Saxo Institutional in Hong Kong

Saxo Capital Markets HK Limited (Saxo Markets) has announced that it has appointed Sean Ma as Head of Saxo Institutional to expand upon its current reach. Ma will take on the responsibilities of its expansion across the growing market of the Greater China region.

Additionally, he will report to both Ivan Chang, the Regional Head of Saxo Institutional, APAC and Richard Douglas, the CEO of Hong Kong at Saxo Markets.

Ma has a strong presence in the financial services industry. In his extensive experience, Ma has held senior-level positions at some of the leading names in Asia’s financial sector.

FCA Expands Senior Leadership Team

Recently, the FCA has expanded its senior leadership team with important appointments, naming Mel Gunewardena as the Senior Advisor.

To accelerate its transformation, the FCA announced hiring Simon Walls as an Interim Wholesale Director. Additionally, Graeme Reynolds has also joined the organisation as the Director of Competition.

Daniela Egli Joins Skilling, to Head the Cyprus Office and Group COO

Daniela Egli, who was the former Managing Director of Fxview, has joined Skilling. Egli is the new CEO and Group COO of the Cyprus Office of Skilling.

Egli has been working in financial services for over 12 years and has CFA Level I, CySEC and CISI Risk in Investments Certifications.

Skilling has recently expanded its offering by adding cryptocurrency CFDs. Under the leadership of Michael Kamerman (CEO), several changes have already been made within the company.

Invast Global Strengthens Prime Services Team, Hires Harry Fry as Director

Invast Global has announced the appointment of Harry Fry as Director of Prime services. This is the second recent hire of the broker to its prime services team, as it onboarded Matt Harris in the same role.

Fry joins Invast Global from London-based Finalto where he spent almost five and half years and worked in its institutional sales team.
