Financial software and consulting company First Derivatives announced this Thursday that it has managed to secure a new Chief Marketing Officer, with the company appointing Kathy Schneider to the role.

As the CMO, Schneider will report directly to the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Seamus Keating. She will be responsible for the Fintech firm’s global marketing strategy, which covers brand, demand generation, and communications.

Schneider joins First Derivatives from Sungard

Schneider has a career that spans almost three decades, with at least 25 years of experience in marketing. She joins the financial services company from Sungard Availability Services, where she was also the CMO.

Commenting on the appointment, Seamus Keating, First Derivatives’ CEO, said in the statement: “We are delighted to welcome Kathy to the First Derivatives leadership team as our global CMO.

“Kathy has robust experience developing global marketing strategies that have helped to achieve growth for established as well as emerging technology businesses. Kathy will drive the evolution of our brand and go-to-market strategy as we expand beyond the financial sector into further industries where our unique Kx data Analytics software and consulting services can deliver unmatched results.”

During her extensive career, Schneider has worked a number of companies in marketing-based roles, with the bulk of her career spent at Dell, her LinkedIn profile shows.

Joining the company in 1999 as a Printer Product Marketing Specialist, she worked her way up the ranks, ultimately becoming the Executive Director, Global Channel Marketing & Programs in 2012, where she led a team of 120 people.

“For more than 20 years, First Derivatives has built a customer-centric business serving the capital markets sector with unique IP in consulting and managed services, supporting mission-critical systems,” added Schneider in the statement.

“With its Kx data analytics software, First Derivatives also addresses the growing challenge of capturing and analysing ever-expanding data volumes to make real-time decisions. It’s an exciting time to join First Derivatives since this presents an enormous opportunity beyond the financial markets as other sectors, like manufacturing and energy, utilise real-time data to make rapid operational decisions.”
