Mr. Edwards will be remembered as "a loving family man, a true leader and a gentleman."
It is with sadness that Finance Magnates reports the passing of Andrew Edwards, who served as the Chief Executive Officer at Saxo Capital Markets UK (SCML). While there is so much that can be said about the passing of human life, Finance Magnates would like to take a moment to highlight some of Mr. Edwards’ professional accomplishments.
"A Loving Family Man, a True Leader, and a Gentleman"
Kim Fournais, Founder and Chief Executive of Saxo Bank, told Finance Magnates that "it is with great sadness that we can confirm that Andrew Edwards passed away peacefully on New Year’s Eve surrounded by his family. We will remember Andrew as a loving family man, a true leader and a gentleman. He will be greatly missed and our heartfelt condolences go to his family."
"Andrew joined us in December 2017 and successfully developed the business and ensured that Saxo had a strong name, reputation, and position in the UK market. He built a strong team and through his natural leadership instilled a great sense of focus, teamwork, and collaboration. Beyond the UK, he made a significant contribution to the Saxo Group and was a highly respected member of our senior team."
Andrew Edwards, former Chief Executive Officer at Saxo Capital Markets UK (SCML).
Throughout His Career, Mr. Edwards Demonstrated a High Level of Expertise, Professionalism, and Dedication to Clients
When Mr. Edwards joined SCML in 2017, Anthony Belchambers, who serves as the company’s Non-Executive Chairman, commented that: “We are delighted to welcome Andrew Edwards in his new role as CEO of Saxo Capital Markets. He has a deep understanding of the UK market and the proven ability to enhance our service offering to institutions, private traders and investors.”
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Edwards demonstrated the care that he and Saxo Capital Markets had for the company’s clients. In an interview with Finance Magnates, he said that in spite of the troubles wrought by the pandemic, “we continue to focus on improving our client experience, providing clients with tools and insights to assist their trading and continue to build a world-class partnership solution.”
Mr. Edwards held his position at Saxo Capital Markets UK since December of 2017. Before that, he worked at ETX Capital where he served as the company’s Head of Trading and General Manager, Managing Director and Trading Director and eventually Chief Executive Officer.
"He will always be remembered as a kind loyal man who cared greatly for anyone who he worked with, and in particular, his family," Mr. Rundle said.
Finance Magnates offers its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Mr. Edwards.
