Capital.com, a London-headquartered brokerage that serves retail and professional FX/CFDs traders, announced the appointment of Simone Manni on Thursday as the Head of Commercial Marketing in Europe. Capital.com confirmed that it is a newly created role, and he will report to Alessandro Capuano, the broker's Head of Europe.

Capital.com Focus on Europe Growth

According to the official press release shared with Finance Magnates, Manni is based in Milan and will be responsible for overseeing the broker's growth in Europe, primarily in Italy and Germany.

"My focus over the next few years will be to grow Capital.com's market share across western Europe and to gain a stronger foothold in countries like Italy and Germany, which boasts a mature and sophisticated trading community," said Manni.

Manni brings over ten years of digital marketing experience to the new role. He joined Capital.com from Italy's Fineco Bank, where he spent about seven years and separated as the Head of Digital Marketing. There, he drove the lender's digital marketing strategy in the European and United Kingdom markets.

Solid Performance in Recent Years

Launched in 2016 and owned by the Belarusian billionaire entrepreneur, Viktor Prokopenya, Capital.com witnessed significant growth in recent years as its global trading volume for 2022 surpassed $1 trillion with more than 7 million registered accounts.

Additionally, the brokerage highlighted that the trading volume from its Western European client base increased by 81 percent last year. Recently, the broker purchased the client book of now-closed FX/CFDs broker OvalX (formerly ETX Capital).

"The European market has yet to benefit from widespread adoption of online trading platforms, which offer greater flexibility and convenience to self-directed traders who want to access the market from anywhere, anytime. As a younger trading community emerges, I am confident that the migration from traditional banks to online tech-first platforms like Capital.com will grow in tandem," said Capital.com's Europe Head, Capuano, who joined the broker last October.

"We are pleased to welcome Simone to the team, whose knowledge and experience of managing multi-channel, multi-country marketing strategies will enable us to reach a wider audience across Europe and deliver sustained outcomes in this rapidly changing industry."

Furthermore, Capital.com strengthened its leadership with several other hires. The group, combining Capital.com and Currency.com, onboarded Peter Hetherington, the former IG Head, as the CEO last year. After Hetherington's appointment, several former IG executives joined Capital.com, including Niamh Byrne as the Head of UK and Ireland, Greg Adams as the Head of Risk, and Tim Plummer as the Head of Product Strategy.
