Capital.com has onboarded Greg Adams as the Head of Risk, thus strengthening its executive team. He is based in London and has already joined the new company.

Adams took over the role at Capital.com from IG, where he spent 17 years of his career. He joined the London-headquartered broker in January 2006 in a Credit Operations role and climbed the corporate ladder over the years, holding several positions around risk management . He separated from IG as the Head of Risk Assurance, a role he held for five years.

IG Executives Joining Capital.com

Adams is one of the many executives hired by Capital.com from IG after the former IG head, Peter Hetherington joined Capital.com and Currency.com as Group CEO, replacing Jon Squires.

Capital.com is owned and controlled by the Belarusian-born billionaire entrepreneur Viktor Prokopenya.

Adams joined the London offices of Capital.com while the broker was growing aggressively. It added more than 1 million new users in the second quarter of 2022, ending the quarter with 6.4 million accounts. However, it did not specify the number of active accounts.

Now, the broker group is focusing on growing the UK business. Earlier this year, the group injected £2.5 million into the UK arm, thus doubling the core capital to £4.7 million. The decision came as revenue of the UK unit of the broker group jumped to £15.4 million in 2021 from the previous year’s £2.0 million, with profits doubling to around £1.9 million.

Moreover, Capital.com has witnessed several key executive changes in the last few months. Some significant appointments in the company include Christopher Brankin as the CEO of Singapore, Angela Shi as the APAC CFO, Laura Lin as the APAC CEO, and Alessandro Capuano as the Head of Europe. On top of that, the broker saw a few senior executives exit as Simon Henry left last month to join Exness as the Compliance Director and the resignation of the Chief Market Strategist, David Jones.
