Binance, one of the leading cryptocurrency infrastructure providers, announced the appointment of Zane Wong as Director of KYC Compliance today.

In an official press release, Binance highlighted that the recently selected Director of KYC Compliance will ensure the highest standards of regulatory compliance. Wong has extensive experience in the global financial sector.

In her previous role, Wong worked with Goldman Sachs, one of the world’s largest investment banks. Additionally, she worked with JPMorgan and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In addition to her extensive experience within the global financial sector, Moreover, Wong is certified by the International Compliance Association and Association of Anti-Money Laundering .

The latest announcement from Binance came nearly one week after the company appointed Nils Andersen Röed, the former project leader of the Dark Web Unit of the Dutch National Police, as the Director of Audit and Investigations.

“We have seen mainstream acceptance of digital assets accelerate over recent years. The rapidly-evolving nature of Cryptocurrencies requires that we collaboratively develop regulatory standards that will ensure the industry’s compliance,” Wong commented on the recent announcement.

KYC Compliance

Since August 2021, Binance has increased its KYC requirements to enhance user protection. Through the appointment of Wong, Binance aims to make its KYC Compliance process efficient.

“My experience with traditional financial services and institutions has laid a firm foundation upon which we can adapt to discover methods that work for the forward-looking cryptocurrency industry. Binance is a global leader in this market, and I am excited to be part of an organization dedicated to making the industry more compliant, resilient and sustainable for the long-term,” Wong added.

In August 2021, Binance mentioned that all new users of the company are required to complete Intermediate Verification to access Binance products and service offerings, including cryptocurrency deposits, trades and withdrawals. During the same month, Binance appointed former US Treasury Criminal Investigator, Greg Monahan as its new Global Money Laundering Reporting Officer (GMLRO).
