Amercanex, the American Cannabis Exchange, today announced that it has tapped Jim Miller to become Amercanex’s new Chief Technology Officer. Amercanex is the first fully electronic cannabis marketplace in the United States where cultivators, wholesale distributors and retail vendors can buy, sell, or exchange their inventories in a transparent intra-state market. The venue has a track record of hiring top Wall Street executives making the switch to the emerging field.

Jim Miller is an accomplished CTO and entrepreneur in the financial technology space, helping innovative technology companies deliver on their business visions. Jim’s extensive technology expertise extends into the financial services sector, having developed leading technology systems with Credit and Fixed Income, as well as the Credit Derivatives arena.

Miller has worked for some of Wall Street’s most respected firms, including Barclays Capital, Creditex and most recently as the co-founder of trueEX LLC, the first Exchange to gain CFTC regulatory approval to trade Interest Rate Swaps. Jim holds a Masters degree in Information Sciences from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University along with a Bachelor’s degree in Business.
